Charities are being urged to put forward their suggestions for Aberdeen Highland Games mascots.
The event takes place on Sunday, June 16 at Hazlehead Park and mascots will compete in six fun events for the chance to win £250 for their nominated charity.
With spaces limited to only 10 mascots, the stakes will be high to be crowned the mascot champion when they compete in the caber toss, highland fling, tug o’ war, high jump, 60m sprint and a stage performance.
Council culture spokeswoman Marie Boulton said: “The Highland Games is always a highlight on our summer events programme and we’re looking forward to another brilliant day.
“The addition of the first ever Mascot Games will be popular with the crowds at what is always a fantastic family occasion.”
Now in its 59th year, spectators will also see all the traditional events including heavy events, solo piping and pipe band competitions, drum major competitions, track and field events, highland dancing and Scottish tug o’ war championship.
