Police have ramped up patrols in an area of Aberdeen after a tall, thin middle-aged man approached a four-year-old girl.
The child told her parents that the man approached her on Valentine’s Drive in Danestone at 6pm on Sunday, March 26, and they reported their concerns to the police.
The force has now appealed for information on the incident, and extra patrols have been carried out as a precaution.
Police say there was “nothing to suggest anything sinister was intended”, but want the public to help piece together what happened.
PC Stuart Hillman asked the man, who was described as wearing blue clothes and could be a delivery driver, to get in touch.
He added: “A number of white delivery vans were seen in the area around the time in question and we are trying to establish if this person is linked to any of these vehicles.
“Perhaps you are a delivery driver who was in the area at the time and have information that could help?
“I must stress that the youngster has not been hurt or affected in any way, but her parents understandably felt that contacting the police was the right thing to do as they didn’t know for sure what this person’s intentions were.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or the Crimstoppers charity on 0800 555111 if they would prefer to remain anonymous.
