Fraserburgh businesses have joined forces with a view to establishing a new group to help boost the town’s fortunes.
The first meeting of Broch Businesses Together was designed to gauge support for the venture.
And while the groups remains in the formative stages, it is already looking to establish its own committee and constitution and set out its key aims.
Discussions took place during a gathering at The Hub on Fraserburgh’s High Street.
It was organised by Ainsley Dyga, who runs a newsagent on Broad Street with her husband Ian.
Mrs Dyga said it had been “very encouraging” and now hopes to move swiftly to the next stage and officially formalise the partnership.
“The initial meeting of Broch Businesses Together went really well, which was very encouraging,” she said.
“The feeling among those who attended was very positive and we all agree to move forward with the association.
“We will be working closely with Discover Fraserburgh, Enterprise Hub, Super Saturday and Business Gateway to name a few, and we will of course be listening to all businesses so that we work together for the benefit of the entire town.
“We will hold a short meeting in the near future to elect a committee agree the constitution and set out the aims.”

As it currently stands, Fraserburgh does not have a business association and town councillor Charles Buchan has welcomed the idea to create one.
He said: “I really support it as Fraserburgh doesn’t have anything like this at the moment.
“The town misses a business association and I really hope this gets off the ground.
“We do need such a group in Fraserburgh as there is a feeling in the town there has to be something formal to represent the views of traders.”
Port councillor Doreen Mair is also supporting the idea and feels it could be a winner.
She said: “It is a positive step.
“It is much better for the town and all of the businesses in it. It is early days, but I think it has got every chance of success.”
