A descendant of Dracula author Bram Stoker will return to the north-east later this month to give a series of talks.
Dacre Stoker will be visiting the region to talk about the Irish novelist’s links with the region.
He will be speaking about his famous literary ancestor at the Garden Arms Hotel on Saturday, April 20 and Peterhead Library on Monday, April 22.
It follows a tour around the UK in 2017.
Mr Stoker’s great-grand uncle stayed at the Garden Arms Hotel in 1896 when he was writing Dracula.
It comes just months after a plaque commemorating Mr Stoker’s links with the Kilmarnock Arms Hotel in Cruden Bay was unveiled.
He wrote a message in the guestbook. It read: “Second visit to Port Erroll. Delighted with everything and everybody and hope to come again to the Kilmarnock Arms.”
Mr Stoker visited Cruden Bay while in the process of writing his novels and used nearby Slains Castle as the inspiration for the mysterious aristocrat’s home.
Mike Shepherd, who wrote a book on Bram Stoker’s north-east links, will be hosting Mr Dacre while he stays in the area.
