An overdue hillwalker has been airlifted to safety this morning.
Police received a call last night at around 7.30pm and the force’s mountain rescue team joined members of the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team to locate the missing man.
At 2.40am this morning the Braemar team tweeted that he had been traced safe but “evacuation now won’t take place till morning”.
“Some team members will remain deployed until then”.
A police spokeswoman confirmed this morning the walker had been airlifted to Braemar and there are not thought to be any injuries.
The incident was the second the teams had to deal with last night.
