Plans for a new drive-through restaurant and tool store in Peterhead have been approved.
Burger King and Toolstation will move into two units on the town’s Burnside Road after officials gave the proposals the go-ahead.
The fast food giant will be based in a 3,200 square foot unit with the retailer going into a 5,000 square foot unit.
The site forms part of Burnside Business Park, near the Invernettie roundabout, which is already home to a business centre and Quantum Data Solutions.
Aberdeen-based firm Mackie Ramsay Taylor Architects submitted the plans on behalf of Carnoustie Links Development Limited.
A supporting statement urged officials to back the plan and said: “There would a small drive-through Burger King unit and a small retail unit.
“The proposed use is consistent with planning policy and provides sustainable development of an appropriate scale for the site and should be supported.”
It said the site would be accessible from Burnside Road, with pedestrian links also created.
There will be 50 car parking spaces to be divided between each of the units.
It is not yet known when construction work on the Burger King and Toolstation outlets will begin.
