A wildfire has broken out at an Aberdeen nature reserve.
Firefighters were called to Scotstown Moor at Bridge of Don at 3.05pm, and a special forestry unit has now been dispatched from Altens to help quell the blaze.
It is understood that there was controlled burning activity being performed in the area at the time, and that the smoke is causing some problems for motorists on the nearby B997 Bridge of Don to Corsehill road.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said that crews from Altens, North Anderson Drive and Aberdeen Central are using beaters to try and extinguish the flames.
She added: “We have three pumps in attendance, as well as a forestry pod from Altens.
“Crews are also using a hose reel jet.”
