A woman has been taken to hospital after being airlifted from a north-east beauty spot. The walker became injured on Crannoch Hill, between Cullen and Sandend, shortly before 11am. It is understood that she had been participating in the annual fundraising Six Harbour Walk between Portsoy and Buckie. A search and rescue helicopter was scrambled from Inverness and took the woman from the hill to a nearby field, and into a waiting ambulance. A spokeswoman for the Coastguard service has confirmed that the woman has now been taken to hospital. The extent of her injuries are unknown but are not thought to be life-threatening.
