A men’s shed set up to curb loneliness in a north-east community will be officially opened this weekend. Aberchirder and District Men’s Shed is welcoming the public to celebrate the occasion with the members on Saturday. Gates open at 1pm and Lord Lieutenant Lady Clare Russell will be on site to formally mark the occasion at 2pm. Following the ceremony will be free refreshments and the chance to explore the space that can be used by members at any time. Membership for the shed is free. Music will be provided by local singer Adele Henderson, accordionist Jim Wiseman and piper Travis Gordon. There will also be raffles, lucky squares, a bottle stall and the popular men’s shed 200 club monthly prize draw books on sale. If the weather is unfortunate a mini marquee will be erected in the shed car park at 5 Bronchal Place.
