An Aberdeen dance troupe has been handpicked to perform at a prestigious dance festival.
Fusion Youth Dance Company, from Citymoves in Aberdeen, have been chosen to perform at the U.Dance youth festival this July.
Their piece ‘When the land crumbles, I will run through water’, choreographed by Steven Martin, is a “glimpse into the human spirit” and performed by seven dancers aged between 14 and 19-years-old.
A panel of judges selected the group after their standout performance at YDance Destinations, a showcase event held in March.
The National Youth Dance Company of Scotland – two members of which, Melissa Heywood, 18, and Jemma Stein, 21, are also from Aberdeen – have also been invited to perform as special guests at U.Dance.
The company will perform their piece ‘For Those Who Wait’, choreographed by YDance artistic director Anna Kenrick.
She said: “It is very important that Scottish groups get the opportunity to perform alongside other talented young dance groups, see the inspirational work being made and be involved in the UK-wide youth dance sector.”
U.Dance will take place at the Southbank Centre, London on July 20 and 21.
