A premier Beatles tribute band re-enacted one of the Fab Four’s most famous moments when they took to the balcony of Marischal Square to play an intimate acoustic concert in the heart of Aberdeen.
The show was an homage to the band’s final performance – a gig atop the roof of London’s Apple Corps on January 30, 1969.
The stars of the musical Let It Be, which is running at the city’s His Majesty’s Theatre this week, dressed as the later-era version of the group with longer hair and loose-fitting clothes replacing the mop-tops and suits.
They performed a selection of the group’s greatest hits for Aberdeen Journals employees on the scorching day, with Here Comes The Sun feeling especially apt.
The crowd also swayed and sang along to renditions of I Feel Fine, John Lennon solo tune Imagine and Hey Jude.
