Council staff have put up a temporary fence to stop drivers parking on the grass field at the junction of Auchinyell Road and Garthdee Road.
Frustration had been growing in the community over motorists parking on the green space near student accommodation block Caledon Court.
Garthdee Community Council received a number of complaints from residents who pay for permits in the area’s Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).
The group’s chairman Paul O’Connor said: “It is not acceptable for people to be parking there, particularly when residents have to get permits to park in their own communities.
“We know it’s not just residents of Caledon Court.”
A spokeswoman for the Fresh Property Group said residents had been warned over parking in the area.
She said: “Our aim is always to be a good neighbour.
“We have spoken to our students and reminded them not to park on the grass.”
Last week, the council stated it was “not acceptable” to use the green space as a carpark, and have since taken action.
Temporary fencing has been erected surrounding Caledon Court in a bid to deter people from parking within its boundaries and damaging the grass.
Councillor Ian Yuill praised the development and said: “Council staff have put up a temporary fence to stop drivers parking on the grass field at the junction of Auchinyell Road and Garthdee Road.
“I urged council staff to take action after being contacted by concerned and annoyed residents.
“A permanent barrier is going to be created to replace the temporary fencing.”
