The casualty was on board the Global Producer 3 ship when he began to feel unwell at about 4pm. Aberdeen Coastguard Helicopter Bond 1 was dispatched to the scene, to the north-east of Aberdeen. The stricken man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and met by the Aberdeen Coastguard Rescue Team and the ambulance service. His condition was unknown last night.
