Community groups in the north-east have been handed a share of more than £5,000.
Five organisations from Peterhead have been awarded grants by NorthConnect, the developers behind a proposed electricity-superhighway connecting Buchan with Norway.
Ahead of securing permission for the project, a funding scheme has been established and is managed by Foundation Scotland.
The groups given a boost are 2nd Battalion The Highlanders Army Cadet Force to buy colour-coded bins, Meethill Primary School Fundraising Committee for trip to Macduff Aquarium and Modo to help with the development of their next production.
Aberdeenshire Sailing Club will use their £1,500 award for training two staff to become paddleboard instructors, while the Anna Ritchie Parent Council were given the same amount to help it purchase a new minibus.
Martin Danziger, creative director of Modo, welcomed its award.
He said: “Modo uses circus to engage young people and to help them change their lives for the better.
“We are delighted that the Fund will help some talented youngsters put on our show ‘Doricula’ – Dracula with a Doric Twist – later in the year across Aberdeenshire.”
