The boss of an international energy firm has joined the board of a north-east cancer support charity.
Hydrasun chief executive Bob Drummond has been brought on to the Clan board of directors for his strategic expertise and significant business experience.
In his 40-year oil and gas career Mr Drummond has previously held senior positions with Maersk UK, Salamis Group and Wood Group Engineering.
Clan offers free support and information for anyone affected by cancer and helps around 2,500 people from across Grampian and the islands every year.
Chief executive Dr Colette Backwell said: “Our board of directors is made up of impressive, hard-working people, who are committed to helping us continue to provide support, and we are delighted that Bob has agreed to join the team as we move forwards.
“Bob brings with him a strong business background which will complement the existing skills and experience on the team.”
Mr Drummond said: “I am honoured to join the Clan board and to be part of an impressive team of people who are committed to helping people in the north-east.
“I have been associated with Clan for a number of years, and this year Hydrasun has worked to develop a campaign which has helped to demonstrate the important work the charity does across the region.”
