Councillors have been encouraged to endorse the efforts of a north-east school that led to its good inspection rating.
Members of the Buchan Area Committee will tomorrow hear about the report on Crimond School and Nursery.
The school was given a list of strengths by Education Scotland and asked to improve in two areas: continuing to share best practice across the staff team and raising attainment in literacy and numeracy by challenging children.
Inspectors visited the school in February and, using evaluations from parents and pupils, found all areas to be worthy of a good rating except the nursery learning, teaching and assessment which received a satisfactory grading.
One of the strengths identified by the inspectors was described in the report which praised “the valuable role of parents, families, partners and the wider community in supporting the work of the nursery and school.
“These supportive partnerships enhance children’s learning experiences and provide rich opportunities for them to achieve success.”
Councillors have been recommended to agree to further inspections being presented in the future.
