Buchan East, Peterhead and Boddam community councils could all land a share of cash from Aberdeenshire Council. They have applied for grants with a new coastal walkway, a campaign to improve the region’s transport links and a car park scheme all in the running. Members of the Buchan area committee will discuss the funding bids at their meeting in Peterhead. Buchan East Community Council is hoping to secure £1,000 for a new path and signs at St Combs beach. Peterhead Community Council has asked for £400 to go towards its Dual Peterhead campaign – which aims to connect the town with the AWPR. Members have also applied for £200 for a defibrillator to be set up at Buchan House. Boddam Community Council requested nearly £400 for hiring equipment to carry out work on a new parking area near the village’s sports pitches. Councillors will meet today to decide each of the funding bids.
