A mobile phone app which helps Aberdeenshire residents report problems to the council hasĀ been named the best of its kind at a Holyrood ceremony.
Aberdeenshire Councilās IT department, who developed the myAberdeenshire app, received the award recently.
Jim Gifford, leader of Aberdeenshire Council, said: āMany congratulations to the councilās IT department on creating a highly useful and easy to use app that allows residents to keep up-to-date with important local authority news on the move.
āIt also is an easy way for the public to communicate directly with the council, such as reporting road defects or missed bin collections as well as allowing people to carry out tasks such as paying for their childrenās school meals at a touch of a button.ā
Nicola Graham, Aberdeenshire Councilās ICT head, added: āWe created the app in response to increasing demand from residents, for access to information and services where and when they needed it.
“It puts their information in their hands, so we called it myAberdeenshire.ā
