Police cordoned off a section of the Old Deeside Railway Line this morning.
Residents in the area spoke of a large police presence being spotted last night and a number of cars, along with an incident support unit, remained at the scene in Cults today.
A spokeswoman for the force said they had been called to a road traffic incident but could give no further details.
Officers were spotted carrying out an investigation on the route, which is popular with walkers and cyclists.
They later removed a motorbike from the scene.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 12.09am to attend an incident at the old Deeside Railway Line.
“We dispatched one ambulance crew and a male patient was transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
