Lego animals of the deep blue sea are expected to make waves at Edinburgh Zoo this weekend, ahead of an appearance at Aberdeen’s P&J Live.
The stunning Bricklive Ocean collection features more than one million individual bricks and is on show in the capital until mid-September.
From there, the killer whale, giant squid, hammerhead shark and others will migrate north to the ÂŁ333 million Granite City venue.
The 30 life-sized sculptures will form part of a much wider celebration of the Danish toy building bricks at the north-east’s new exhibition and conference centre.
The exhibit might look like a fish out of water among the live animals of the zoo but will look right at home during the Lego fan show.
Four metres long and made from almost 200,000 Lego bricks, the killer whale is the biggest sculpture featuring in the world-exclusive display, which will be on show at P&J Live between September 20 and 22.
The exhibition will help to highlight the threats faced by marine wildlife all around the world.
Thousands of families are expected to descend on the new exhibition centre, which will open its doors just a few weeks earlier.
They will be able to build their own car and race it down ramps, recreate iconic landmarks from around the world, visit the Ninjago Zone or recreate a Minecraft universe.
Exhibitions Manager at P&J Live Claire-Lena Miller-Davis said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing Bricklive to Aberdeen, especially to our brand new venue.
“This will be the first consumer exhibition held at P&J Live offering a fantastic opportunity for families to come and see the new venue for the first time.”
