A special challenge has been launched to help build excitement for this year’s Great Aberdeen Run.
The annual event will return to the city for the third time on August 25, with a 10K, half-marathon and family fun run.
Leading up to it organisers have launched the Aberdeen Activity Challenge, which will take participants through the half-marathon course one section at a time.
As they complete each part, they can colour in the relevant section on their downloadable activity tracker.
Once they have completed the challenge, they can get a certificate in recognition of their achievement.
They will also be offered a special prize if they take part in the family run during the event.
The city council’s culture spokeswoman, Councillor Marie Boulton, said: “Sport and culture is so important to the city.
“The Aberdeen Activity Challenge is a great opportunity to really get the whole family involved and I’m sure it will be popular over the summer holidays.
“We hope to see as many young people as possible signing up for the challenge and also taking part in the family run, offering the unique experience of sampling the city centre course.”
