A north-east MSP has met with a number of businesses from Inverurie as part of an annual initiative to connect with traders.
The MSP Connector Programme is now in its fifth year and is part of wider efforts to boost Scotland’s town centres.
Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin spent the day in the Garioch town and spoke with a number of people in the business community, including the owners of One Life Gym, Pedal Power and Dolce Vita Flowers.
MSPs are encouraged to take a day during parliamentary recess to visit towns in their constituency or region as part of the programme.
Ms Martin said: “It was great to spend the day in Inverurie, getting to meet key stakeholders and businesses.
“The community in Inverurie has worked tremendously hard in the past few years, particularly during the BID process, to put the town on the map.
“We know that high streets face many opportunities but also challenges from online stores and, as a member of the CPG on town centres and as the MSP for Aberdeenshire East, I am keen to do all I can to help support Inverurie.”
