A leading north-east cancer support charity has made a call for raffle and auction prize donations which will be used at a James Bond-themed event at Aberdeen’s new exhibition and events venue.
CLAN Cancer Support’s annual ball will be held at P&J Live on Saturday, October 5.
The CLAN Thunderball, which takes place on International James Bond day will feature 007’s signature martinis along with live entertainment and a casino.
The ball will be hosted by premier event host Alex Fleming.
Funds raised on the night will help support the organisation, which provides emotional and practical support to people affected by cancer.
Based in Aberdeen, the charity covers the whole of north-east Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.
It also has a presence in Ballater, Banchory, Buckie, Crimond, Elgin, Inverurie, Lossiemouth, Turriff, Kirkwall and Lerwick.
A major part of the fundraising for the Thunderball comes from raffle and auction prizes, with the charity asking the north-east community for support with donations, either corporate or individual.
Clare Jamieson, CLAN’s fundraising coordinator, said: “The Thunderball is one of the first event of its kind to be held at P&J Live and it promises to be a fantastic night.
“The annual ball is a popular event and we are excited to include this year’s 007 theme.
“CLAN relies totally on support from the community and we are particularly keen to hear from people who can donate prizes on the night.
“No matter what size, big or small, shaken or stirred, we welcome prizes for our tombola, raffle and auction.
“Every donation will help to make a real difference to people facing some of the most difficult times of their lives.
“Prize donations could include gift vouchers, unique works of art, tickets to events and lifetime experiences, or hampers, meal vouchers, jewellery and sporting memorabilia – or even the use of private villas in magnificent resorts.”
