A popular north-east singer has joined the line-up of an Aberdeen festival.
Singer-songwriter Fiona Kennedy will perform at the Gallowgate Festival in the city on Saturday, alongside a host of other acts including Yvonne Morton, Sandy Tweddle and the Iron Broo duo of Charlie Abel and Fred Wilkinson.
She will be joined on stage by multi-instrumentalist, Nils Elders.
She said: “The Gallowgate Festival is a wonderful way to celebrate so many things about our great city, with a diverse range of music and events.
“I loved being a small part of it last year and I’m delighted to be involved again this year – it’s a wonderful community event and well worth supporting.”
As well as musical entertainment, festival goers can enjoy an array of stalls while the historic St Margaret of Scotland Church and gardens will also be open for visitors to explore.
Rector of St Margaret’s, Very Reverend Dr Alexander Emsley Nimmo said he was thrilled to be hosting the event for the 26th time.
“With a wide variety of entertainment and lots going on, it promises to be another great event not only for the community in the Gallowgate but visitors from across the city and shire,” he said.
Lord Provost Barney Crockett will officially open the festival at 10am at St Margaret of Scotland Church on Rosemount Viaduct.
