A diamond worth thousands of pounds will be up for grabs when an Aberdeen charity holds its first ever diamond hunt.
Cancer charity Maggie’s is giving supporters the chance of walking away with a £5,000 diamond donated by George Street jewellers Finnies.
The family business has also donated 10 £100 gift vouchers for the runners-up.
The hunt, for all ages, will start and finish on the rooftop garden above the St Nicholas Centre, with every penny raised going to support people affected by cancer in the north-east.
The charity’s fundraising manager, Paula Cormack, said: “The diamond hunt is the first event of its kind for Maggie’s Aberdeen and the prizes that can be won are incredible.
“It will be a great day out to enjoy with family and friends and in addition to the hunt, there will be delicious food and drink options with some great live music.”
Dominique Dawson, from Finnies, added: “We are delighted to be part of this inaugural event and are grateful to the team at Maggie’s for allowing us to help support the wonderful work it does.
“We wish the very best of luck to everyone taking part and we look forward to welcoming the successful ‘treasure hunters’ into Finnies very soon.”
Registration for the diamond hunt, which takes place on September 7, is now open at www.maggiescentres.org/diamondhunt
