A north-east animal rescue centre will open its doors next week in an attempt to attract more volunteers.
The Scottish SPCA base in Drumoak is inviting would-be fundraisers and “those who love a challenge” to look around the facility on August 8 and 9.
Staff are hoping to get more volunteers on board to raise money and help them care for the scores of animals that pass through their doors each year.
In 2018 alone, more than 2,000 pets were looked after at the facility.
Scottish SPCA community fundraiser Richenda McLean said: “We rely entirely on donations to continue our vital work and are looking for kind people interested in giving their time to help raise funds for Scotland’s animals.
“From holding fundraising events, taking on fundraising challenges, supporting with events and collections and placing collecting cans around the area, there is no end to the ways in which fundraising volunteers can be involved.
“Volunteering is a great way to help us continue to rescue and rehome abused, abandoned and injured animals in Scotland and can be a great way to spend your free time or gain some valuable experience.”
Visits are available from 10am-4pm on August 8 or 9, and slots must be booked in advance.
