Musicians from across the world showed off their skills and passed on tips to aspiring players during the Aboyne Cello Festival.
The eight-day event concluded with a giant cello ensemble show in the MacRobert Hall, Tarland, with star soloist Philip Higham.
The festival involved 30 cellists who travelled from all corners of the UK, Europe and even Japan to take part in the summer school.
Mr Higham has recently been touring the Rococo Variations with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra wowing audiences across Scotland.
Rebecca Gilliver, principal cello of the London Symphony Orchestra, and pianist Sally Birkett performed at the Phoenix Hall at Newton Dee Village for the first time.
The concert featured a mix of solo works by Bach and Ligeti followed by pieces with piano by Beethoven, Clara and Robert Schumann and Elizabeth Maconchy.
Summer school students received lessons and masterclasses with Mr Higham, Ms Gilliver and festival director James Halsey.
Other shows took place at the Barn, Banchory, with 150 people enjoying the recital.
Organisers have promised that preparations are already under way for next year’s event.
