A north-east town is in the running to have its high street named Britain’s best.
And the people of Turriff are being encouraged to do their bit by voting in this year’s Great British High Street competition.
Turriff was acclaimed as having Scotland’s most beautiful high street in 2018 and is one of only three Scottish towns now shortlisted for the Champion High Street Award and in the running to be named Champion High Street of the Year.
The others are Prestwick’s Main Street and Alness High Street in Ross-Shire.
From August 28, judges from the competition will be visiting all shortlisted towns across the UK.
Turriff’s high street has previously been lauded for its local heritage, beauty and unique atmosphere.
Councillor Alastair Forsyth said: “This is a credit to the hard work the community and organisations like the Turriff Business Association have put in.”
