Police, firefighters and ambulance crews were all sent to the collision in Huntly at around 10.50am. It happened on the A96 Aberdeen-Elgin road at its junction with the A97 Huntly-Gartly road. A female driver was released from her car by fire crews using hydraulic cutting equipment. She was taken to hospital but the extent of her injuries is unclear. An ambulance spokesman said: “We received a call at around 10.50am to attend a road traffic collision on the A97. “We dispatched two ambulances and our special operations team to the scene. “We transported one patient to the Jubilee Hospital in Huntly and one patient to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.” The road was closed for around five hours but has since been reopened.
