Community groups around Fyvie and Rothienorman have been invited to apply for grants from a £19,000 pot of cash from the Gordonstown wind farm.
The fund, which is administered by the Fyvie, Rothienorman and Monquhitter Community Council, is paid for by Ventient Energy, the wind farm’s owners.
Every year, the company makes two rounds of awards, and the closing date for the current round is September 23.
This year, the grants awarded so far have included £1,000 towards the purchase of a new lawn mower for Rothienorman Bowling Club, £500 for the Fyvie Brownies to buy a box trailer for camping equipment, and £200 for the Woodhead and Windyhills Community Trust to purchase new way-markers.
