Reports were received of a person struggling in the water around 5.30pm. The person was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. A coastguard spokeswoman said: “We were called to the incident at 5.30pm, after receiving reports of someone in difficulty in the water. “They were transferred by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and we do not know the extent of their injuries. “We stood down at 6.15pm.” Police were also in attendance to assist the RNLI. A police spokesman said: “A male had got caught in the current. “Two members of the public helped bring him to shore. “He was conscious and breathing, but taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a precaution.” More to follow.
