Group to remember those lost to drug overdoses in city

An event will be held this weekend to remember those lost to drug overdoses in Aberdeen.

Anyone is welcome to join volunteers from Substance Bereavement Support Aberdeen (SBSA) on Saturday.

Starting at 1.30pm, volunteers will meet for a memorial service before heading to the Carmelite Hotel to mark International Overdose Awareness Day.

Organiser Caroline Butler said: “The group supports anyone who has lost a family member to substance abuse.

“We will meet at a planter at 1.30pm and will lay down some red roses and windmills with names on them.

“After about half an hour, we will then head to the Carmelite for a networking session.

“Anyone is welcome to join us and found out more what we do.”
