A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his wife.
Pupil support assistant Alice Farquharson was found dead at her home in Aberdeen’s Angusfield Avenue on Thursday.
Yesterday, Keith Farquharson appeared in private at the city’s sheriff court accused of killing her.
The 60-year-old, of Aberdeen, is also facing a charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
His case was continued for further examination and will call again next week.
On Friday, Mrs Farquharson’s devastated family described the 56-year-old as “kind and loving”.
They said: “She was a well-respected and much-loved pupil support assistant at Hazlehead Primary School.
“She loved her job and all the children there and we hope they will always remember her for the caring woman she was.”
Following her death a letter was sent out all parents at the school.
It read: “Alice has been a much-loved member of our school for 17 years.
“She always put the needs of children and staff first and took great pleasure in being able to support everyone.
“Alice will be a huge loss to our school as she touched the lives of so many during her time here at Hazlehead.”
