A stunning mural has been unveiled on Victoria Road as part of an initiative to spark civic pride in Torry.
VictoriArt is a community-led project supported by residents, artists, activists and Aberdeen City Council community workers.
The project received a £10,000 Awards for All Scotland grant in 2017 to help with commissioning and material costs.
Artist KMG was asked to create a mural for the local golf club that explored the benefits of exercise in relation to mental health.
Part of the artist’s post on Facebook reads: “When I think of golf I think of my granny, who was so passionate about the sport it became an integral part of her life.
“Growing up I watched how golf gave her a sense of structure yet freedom.
“It created close friendships and was there to provide comfort, focus and purpose after the loss of my granddad, which truly broke her heart.
“After seeing her journey and relationship with this sport and the benefits it brought to her life both physically and mentally, it felt fitting to create a mural exploring this theme on a golf course next to the North Sea.”
The scheme was inspired by the Nuart festival and is part of the Locality Plan for Torry.
It aims to brighten up Victoria Road by installing art and other creative pieces.
