The RNLI is seeking a new voice for Scotland’s most north-easterly lifeboat station.
Its new press officer at Peterhead will be challenged with keeping the community informed about all the team’s activities as well as their fundraising endeavours.
The lifeboat station at the port houses a Tamar class all-weather lifeboat, which was launched 16 times last year, coming to the aid of five people.
Funded by donations from the public, the crew of volunteers are on call 24 hours a day.
The RNLI provides suitable training, equipment, guidance and support to all of its volunteers.
A spokesman for the RNLI said: “This is the perfect opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic local team as well as play a part in saving lives at sea.
“The role involves maintaining a good relationship with local press, radio, television and online news.
“The volunteer will also keep the community informed of operational activity through promoting relevant rescue and lifeboat safety events.”
Candidates will be required to commit anything between one to five hours of work each week, depending on the crew’s operational activity and should have good communication, IT and writing skills.
To find out more about the role, contact regional media officer Martin Macnamara at martin_macnamara@rnli.org.uk or search for the role at volunteering.rnli.org.
The closing date for applications is October 20.
