A council worker has died suddenly while on a job at an Aberdeen flat.
The 34-year-old man was found dead at a property in the city’s Seaton Drive on Friday afternoon.
Circumstances around his death remain unclear but police last night confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances and that he had died “suddenly”.
The force was called to the scene at around 3.30pm on Friday.
An Aberdeen City Council spokeswoman said the authority would be working to support the man’s family following the incident.
She added: “Our thoughts are with the family and all those affected by the sudden death of our staff member.
“We will be offering the family support and respect their privacy at this time so it would not be appropriate to comment further.”
A police spokeswoman said: “Officers were called to an address on Seaton Drive, Aberdeen around 3.30pm on Friday, September 13 following the sudden death of a 34-year-old man.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), which is responsible for the regulation and enforcement of workplace health, safety and welfare, said that the body was aware of the incident but not investigating it “at this time”.
Last night local politicians paid their respects to the man.
Council co-leader Douglas Lumsden said: “This is very sad news that one of our colleagues has sadly passed away.
“Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this time.”
Opposition Liberal Democrat infrastructure spokesman Steve Delaney said: “Obviously this is tragic news and my thoughts are with the person’s family at this difficult time.”
