A man has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after an assault in the street this evening.
Police were called to the city’s Hutcheon Street at around 5.50pm to reports of the disturbance.
It is understood two males were behind the attack on a man in his twenties.
Three police cars were seen in the street as officers cordoned off an area, at the junction with Fraser Road, as investigators bagged evidence lying in the street.
Among the items officers could be seen lifting into a van were a push bike and fluorescent green backpack, similar to those used by bike couriers.
A police spokeswoman said: “A 28-year-old man was assaulted.
“He has facial injuries and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for checks.
“It appears two males assaulted him although we are still dealing with the incident.”
