Dons striker Bruce Anderson will cut the ribbon to kick off a charity run to raise funds to fight diabetes tomorrow.
The walk and fun run will raise money to cure, prevent and treat type 1 diabetes, a condition which Mr Anderson was diagnosed with at the age of 16.
More than 700 people from across the north-east will take part to raise money for the research charity JDRF.
Participants aged five and above will cover either a 5k walk or 2k obstacle course during the family-friendly event, with the ribbon being cut at the Lochter Activity Centre.
Type 1 diabetes causes sufferers’ immune systems to attack and destroy the insulin producing cells in the pancreas, and affects 400,000 people across the UK.
The autoimmune condition requires those who suffer from it to take insulin daily to move the energy from your food to your blood into the cells around your body.
