People of all ages are being encouraged to take part in a charity firewalk to raise funds for a north-east fitness group.
Shape Up Peterhead is calling for daring fundraisers to take part in the daunting challenge to raise much-needed cash for the non-profit organisation.
This is the first fundraising event of its kind to raise money for the club itself and is being held to coincide with its third anniversary.
The sum raised will go towards creating more storage space, purchasing new equipment and for the general upkeep of the facility.
Shape Up leader, PJ Coutts, said: “I wanted to do a fundraising event that would also give back to those taking part and to help them feel unstoppable.
“The idea is to think of something you’re struggling with in life and the fire walk is symbolic of you overcoming that problem.”
Participants are asked to raise £100 in sponsorship money prior to the walk and there is a special prize up for grabs for whoever raises the most.
People will receive coaching at Buchanhaven Hearts Social Club in Peterhead before taking part in the main event at Barclay Park at 1.30pm on Sunday, November 3.
Firewalking is an ancient ritual which has existed for thousands of years and has roots in many different cultures.
The fitness group says it has secured “some of the world’s best firewalkers” to take part.
