Aberdeenshire’s Across the Grain festival will return for a second year, boasting almost 100 events and performances.
It will run throughout October, showcasing some of the north-east’s finest musicians, storytellers, composers, choreographers and singers alongside a diverse selection of national and international acts.
As well as scheduled events at local venues, there will also be pop-up performances ranging from country dance sessions in community centres to young musicians busking at local farmer’s markets.
A showcase concert in Stonehaven will feature performances from Aberdeenshire musician Iona Fyfe, Hanka Wojciak and Pawel Haranczyk from Poland and The Melting Pot Fusion Band, a group of north-east musicians who play an eclectic range of music inspired by cultures across the world.
Many of the events on offer are free, though some are already fully booked.
