The home of an Aberdeenshire rescue dog charity has been badly damaged in the flooding chaos that hit the region this weekend.
The training area, office and kennels at Until Every Dog Has a Home at Garmond were left submerged after the heavy downpour on Saturday morning.
A statement online said there is “a lot of damage already” and “much more damage to find”.
There are 19 dogs on site.
“Our dogs have all been dried out, and with the water pulling back for now they are still all able to remain in their kennels”, owner Karen Fairclough wrote online last night.
“For the rescue dogs in particular, it’s so important to avoid any major disruption for as long as it safe to do so, with many of them requiring controlled environments to maintain below their threshold of anxiety (and aggression).
“We have made preparations just in case the water does rise again and we have to move dogs about, with two kennels in particular being affected.”
The owners, who also run The Dog School, monitored the water levels through the night and will be assessing the damage today. The business is closed until further notice and clients will be updated.
