A north-east man has completed a solo walk from Oban to Fraserburgh to raise money for the Boys Brigade.
Scott Henderson made his way from coast to coast this summer, raising £1,500 for the 1st Rosehearty company.
The 38-year-old chose to raise money for his local group, having been one of their Anchor Boys when we was four.
The company disbanded when he was only 17-years-old but volunteer leaders have now kick-started the group once more, bringing it back to the village after a 10-year hiatus.
Mr Henderson hopes the money will help the 1st Rosehearty company go on hikes, camps or excursions.
He said: “Growing up in the village, I was a member of the Rosehearty Boys Brigade for many years, from Anchor Boys, through Junior Section and onto Company Section.
“The three companies of the 1st Rosehearty Boys Brigade under the new officers are now thriving again.
“In May, I set off from Oban to cover the 250 miles to Fraserburgh.
“The challenge was to cross Scotland from west coast to east coast all self-supported, by foot and wild camping on route.
“My journey took me through Glen Lonan and onwards to Loch Etive, Glen Noe, Glen Kinglass, Banks of the river Lyon and on to Blair Atholl.”
From there, Mr Henderson walked on to Glen Tilt, Gelder bothy and Ballater, where he picked-up the Deeside Way and followed it to Aberdeen.
The final part of his journey took him onto the Formaritine Buchan Way at Dyce and along the old train line to Fraserburgh.
Mr Henderson added: “On completion of the journey, I decided to apply as an officer for 1st Rosehearty, primarily for the Company Section where I hope to pass my skills and knowledge of hiking and mountain terrain onto the young men of the village.”
