Tickets for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards go on sale this Friday.
The biggest awards night on the sporting calendar will be held at the new P&J Live arena – the first time the city will have hosted the event.
Presented by Gary Lineker, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan, the awards will take place on December 15.
Tickets go live at 9am and can be purchased from the P&J Live arena’s website.
Up to 10,000 will be in attendance, with millions more tuning in to watch live on BBC One.
Director of BBC Sport Barbara Slater said: “It’s been an extraordinary year of sport so far, with many incredible moments and surely more to come.
“I have no doubt Aberdeen will be an excellent host city to help us celebrate them.”
Alongside the main event, a special BBC Festival of Sport will take place in Aberdeen on December 13 and 14.
The festival will give school children and members of the public the chance to try a variety of sporting activities.
BBC Sport talent will be on hand to offer tips and encouragement.
Nominations for this year’s Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero Award opened yesterday.
The award celebrates individuals that give up their time to help others take part in grassroots sports.
