Hundreds donned neon clothes and walked or ran round Peterhead in aid of the Buchan Giving Tree on Tuesday night, raising £3,050.91. Around 200 people registered for the event but latecomers were welcome to sign up on the night and added to that number. Shona Watson from the Buchan Giving Tree said: “We are totally overwhelmed by the amount raised and will continue to put it to good use. “This will guarantee the project can support local families well into 2020.” Leaving from Symposium at the Lido South Beach on Tuesday night, the fundraisers braced the cold to walk or 5k or 10k round the town.
