Aberdeenshire Council staff are to show off hidden talents in a charity variety show next week.
Contestants taking part in Aberdeenshire’s Got Talent are to perform music, comedy and dance at Aberdeen Arts Centre in King Street on Friday, in aid of STV’s Children’s Appeal.
The evening will be hosted by the television station’s Chris Harvey with Original 106’s Martyn Smith and entertainer Lisa Lollipop among the judges.
Staff at council HQ at Woodhill House were surprised by a visit of Darth Vader yesterday, who appeared in a bid to sell tickets for the event.
Organiser Andrew Stewart said: “We wanted to fundraise for charity and the children’s appeal seemed like a great fit.
“We have used a variety of innovative methods to encourage staff to take part, including making our own video and asking colleagues to submit their own videos.
“Aberdeenshire’s Got Talent boasts an excellent line up of staff showcasing a range of different skills.
“It really will be an evening where there will be something for everyone.”
The local authority’s chief executive Jim Savege added: “I am really pleased that staff have taken the initiative to arrange this fantastic event.
“I would like to wish everyone the best of luck and I hope the STV children’s appeal benefits hugely.”
Tickets are available to buy from the Aberdeen Performing Arts website.
