A new club has been launched in Aberdeenshire, with its members already hard at work to improve their community.
Rotary District 1010 announced the formation of the Ythan Valley Rotary yesterday.
The group is already looking into improving the condition of Ythan Bridge, hopes to create a clothing bank for the area and engage with local primary and secondary schools.
Residents Eleanor Macalister and Hilary Gordon kicked off the project back in March with a number of open meetings in the area, running from Newburgh to Methlick and the wider Ythan Valley area.
They spoke with residents to discuss a new “flexible, inclusive and diverse” club open to all ages wanting to support their community.
To mark the launch, a celebratory afternoon tea will be held later this month at Beaton Hall, Methlick.
Rotary District 1010 district governor Alistair McNair said: “I am delighted to welcome Ythan Valley Rotary into the family of Rotary.
“I wish this innovative group every success in the community, and am looking forward to joining everyone at the charter celebration in Methlick.”
The group meets in Ythanbank Hall on the second and fourth Sundays of the month and encourage anyone, including children, to attend.
