A public meeting will be held in Peterhead next month to discuss plans for the new secondary school.
Locals are already being asked to make their thoughts known on the Peterhead Academy Community Campus project, earmarked for land at Kinmundy.
A public consultation is running until December 13.
Now Aberdeenshire Council has also revealed a public meeting will be held on November 12 for those keen to find out more about the project. It will take place at the current academy.
Local councillors Dianne Beagrie and Alan Fakley last night encouraged people to get involved.
Mr Fakley said: “This confirms Aberdeenshire Council and the current administration’s commitment to deliver this project and see the children of Peterhead being educated in a fantastic new facility.
“We have no doubt that the new academy co-located with primary education and sports and leisure facilities will have a hugely positive effect on the town and nearby area.”
