A north-east country estate has issued a warning about scammers trying to profit from the last minute clamour to attend its Halloween event.
Haddo House has urged those looking to attend its ticket-only Magical Forest evenings this week to only buy tickets staff verify.
The evenings – featuring illuminations around the estate’s woods – have been sold out since the beginning of last month.
It is not the first time the estate, near Tarves, has been forced to issue such a warning after similar attempts to swindle those looking for tickets last year.
A spokeswoman for Haddo House said she had not heard of anyone falling foul of the scam.
“It is quite common for scammers to look for sold out events on the internet and then to offer tickets for them.
“We have taken as many precautions as we can.”
