A former Aberdeen care home could be turned into more than 40 flats if councillors back the scheme next week.
CALA Homes (North) and social care charity VSA have gone back to the drawing board and scaled-back their plans for the Forest Grove site on King’s Gate.
An earlier incarnation of the proposal featured 49 flats and a five-storey build but that has now been revised down to 41 flats over four floors.
VSA have said that by selling the land they could invest in a new mental health facility at Abergeldie Road.
Mike Naysmith, managing director at CALA Homes (North), said: “Our proposed development at King’s Gate will transform a currently disused, redundant site into high quality apartments.”
The plans have, however, proved unpopular with some, with 31 objections received by the council.
Concerns raised include a lack of school places for new residents, an increase in traffic in the area and the potential loss of trees.
The council’s planning committee will meet next Thursday to make a decision.
