Three crews battled the steading blaze yesterday evening. Appliances from Ellon and Aberdeen were sent to the scene after the alarm was raised at 6.50pm. A 25 by 15ft steading, with bales inside, was found “well alight”. This morning, a fire spokeswoman confirmed the fire had been extinguished. She said: “Four appliances were sent to the scene along with a water carrier. “Firefighters used one jet to extinguish the flames. “Throughout the night units went back to the scene and checked to make sure there was no chance of the fire re-starting.” Firefighters left the scene at 5.31am.
